Job Description: Medical Receptionist

Office locations: Reston, Lansdowne, StoneSprings and Leesburg (Cornwall)

Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients as they arrive at the office
  • Confirming insurance eligibility
  • Answering the phones and sending messages through the office electronic medical record
  • Collecting co-pays and other patient payments
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Completing tasks from providers in a timely fashion
  • Checking benefits for office procedures and surgeries
  • Keeping the reception area clean and organized
  • Sending out patient correspondence

Job Requirements

Job Description: Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Obtaining patient vital signs and rooming patients
  • Assisting providers with clinical procedures
  • Assisting physician with general patient care and medical coding
  • Cleaning and stocking exam rooms
  • Completing tasks from providers in a timely fashion
  • Contacting patients with critical laboratory or imaging results
  • Triaging phone calls for patients with an urgent medical problem or postoperative problem
  • Performing bladder scan, urinalysis
  • Collecting and preparing lab specimens Such as urinalysis and urine cytology

Job Description: Advanced Practice Provider (Physcians Assistant, Nurse Practitioner)

Office location: Reston

Responsibilities

  • Hospital consults, rounds and discharges
  • Working with nurse, operating room charge nurse, surgery scheduler and surgeon to arrange same day urgent surgery e.g. kidney stones
  • Collaboration with nurse, hospitalist team and other care providers to formulate a plan for inpatients
  • Use of hospital apps to locate patients and look up study results
  • Independent office practice including new patient consultations, established patient follow up and postoperative appointments
  • Provide care for same-day urgent patients, e.g. UTI
  • Ordering appropriate laboratory studies and diagnostic imaging
  • Reviewing and managing laboratory and imaging results on electronic medical record, both desktop and app
  • Prescribe and monitor medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Perform specialized procedures such as catheter irrigation, difficult catheter placement, evaluation of drains, InterStim (bladder acupuncture), urodynamics, pelvic floor physical therapy (training provided)
  • Ensure continuity of care by serving as a liaison between patient, family, multi-disciplinary care team and other specialty providers
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Foster excellent relationships with all members of the care team: medical receptionists, medical assistants, surgery schedulers, office managers, other APPs, surgeons, hospital staff

Job Description: Medical Scribe

Office Locations: Reston, Lansdowne, StoneSprings and Leesburg (Cornwall)

Responsibilities

  • Work with a supervising physician to complete and submit medical records
  • Take notes during patient visits in the electronic medical record system
  • Work with front desk gas to obtain, make copies and upload relevant patient records
  • Coordinate with medical assistant to see which patients are ready to be seen and communicate results of same day studies with physician
  • Collaborate with information technology department regarding functionality of laptop, printer and other IT issues
  • Professional communication with patients, family members and caregivers
  • Assisting in preparation of office procedures
  • Prompt completion of administrative tasks

Job Description: Urologist (MD, DO)

Office locations: Reston, Lansdowne, StoneSprings and Leesburg (Cornwall)

Responsibilities

  • Seeing patients in the office including consultations, new patients, established patients and postoperative appointments
  • Office procedures including cystoscopy and cystoscopy stent removal
  • Working with front desk and medical assistant and to complete electronic medical record and billing promptly
  • Performing surgery at three hospitals and up to two surgery centers
  • Management of urgent emergency department, inpatient and intraoperative consultations
  • Collaboration and supervision of APPs
  • Working as a team with nine other urologists
  • Participation in urology call schedule involving we can nights and weekends

Job requirements

  • Virginia state license and certification to practice urology
  • Virginia DEA for prescription of medication
  • The ability to keep updated on the latest medical technologies
  • The flexibility to work irregular hours and remain on emergency call.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Job Description: Certified Pharmacy Technician

Office location: Lansdowne

Responsibilities

  • Assist the physician pharmacist in providing the highest level of pharmaceutical care
  • Work collaboratively with advanced prostate cancer clinic providers and staff
  • Gather, label and distribute medications accurately and efficiently
  • Check insurance eligibility for medication
  • Apply for financial assistance for oncology medication if needed
  • Maintaining accurate medication inventory
  • Assist with medication billing
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate medication pick up with patients
  • Effective communication with providers, medical assistants and receptionists and staff
  • Cross train to fill-in as medical receptionist as needed

Job Requirements

  • Ability to perform technical tasks and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Math and calculator skills
  • Proficiency with office software programs and keyboarding
  • Working knowledge of the metric system
