Dr. Kevin O’Connor, President of the Virginia Board of Medicine, served as the Board’s representative at the “Conversion Therapy Workshop” called by the General Assembly to review and make recommendations to the various Health Profession Boards (Counseling, Psychology, Nursing, Medicine and Social Work) regarding restricting conversion therapy in minors.

Delegate Patrick Hope (D) of Arlington and Senator Amanda Chase (R) of Chesterfield were among those who spoke Ocrober 5th at the joint Conversion Therapy meeting of the Boards of Medicine, Psycology and Nursing following public comment given for and against potential health regulatory board action regarding conversion therapy on those under 18 by a clinician licensed by the state.
