Dr. Jennifer Young will be giving a lecture Monday, October 8, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Reston Hospital in Pavilion II, second floor, room A. The audience is the Prostate Cancer Support Group, it is open to the public.

This is an exciting time in prostate cancer management. As we unlock the code to the human genome, we have more tools to learn about the unique biology of an individual’s tumor. We can use this information to tailor prostate cancer treatment. There are a number of tests for prostate cancer management which are now commercially available. Genetic tests are available at many stages of prostate cancer management including pre-biopsy, post biopsy and after prostate removal. These tests can help guide treatment decisions in terms of whether or not to repeat a biopsy, if active surveillance is safe and whether or not to pursue radiation after prostate cancer removal. Join us for a lecture and discussion regarding genetic testing and prostate cancer management.
